Try looking at the Focus on Finishing blog (just Google it) for finishing tutorials, there are some great ones on there.

My favourite neutral linens are Summer Khaki, Platinum, Antique Ivory and Cream. Dirty linen is also good if you want something darker than SK. As people have said, you can try tea or coffee dyeing - I've also used Walnut Ink spray (which is acid-free and available off Ebay) for a nice mottled look. Another good option is Vintage Belfast/Cashel linen; it's mottled on one side and is great for a more primitive look. I've used Vintage Country Cream and Vintage Country Mocha and they're both worth having on hand.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8750150069188395481.post-20969079709969138482010-10-10T14:43:25.351-07:002010-10-10T14:43:25.351-07:00So many pretty projects, Lesleyanne! I love your work.
Not sure if you like the primitive look or not but I was just told to take instant coffee grounds, make a paste and rub them in to linen then rinse immediately. Keep doing it until you reach the desired look. I haven't tried it yet but can't wait until I return home to do it!
Congratulations on your win!Peggy Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11719096552002968247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8750150069188395481.post-2264697508691070052010-10-10T12:52:39.859-07:002010-10-10T12:52:39.859-07:00Wow... lots of stitching there. Explore a bit and don't be afraid to experiment.

I like to take white fabric and soak it in strong hot tea. It give the fabric a lovely color to stitch on.
