Building Fences!

On CCN A Bee C Sampler. I am not sure if you can see the white fences stitched on the cream aida or not but for International Hermit and Stitch Weekend
thats what I stitched and a tree.

I had the week off last week and spent it taking the boys out and about. We went to Chapel St Leonards for the day, visited friends and family, lunched out at lot and saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 which according to my boys, and me, it was AWESOME.

Here is my progress for Friday's L*K SAL which was the first time I had any chance to stitch.

I did, in between outings etc, managed to finish my L*K Santa wants to know into a cube. I used Vonna's tutorial, http://tts-tutorials.blogspot.com/2008/04/cube-finish.html. I am quite pleased with the finish and one I may do again. As is normal with me there is room for improvement but have managed to hide the flaws at the back.

I am also stating for the record, I am going on a STASH DIET, on the wagon, whatever you want to call it lol. I have just placed an order with Down Sunshine Lane, for the JCS ornament magazines and the Lizzie Kate Snowman and the Santa and that is it until at least Christmas if not longer. I have ordered the JCS ornament magazines and haven't stitched the ones I want to stitch from last years so really need to crack on.

I would really like to know how to insert a link too. I click on the icon type in the url address but nothing seems to happen, not sure why, anybody know?

I also wondered if anybody else was having trouble getting into the Needlecraft Haven on Yuku. It keeps asking for my log in details and then won't log me in.

I think that's enough waffle from me for one day.

Until next time, happy stitching

Great cube finish Lesley Anne, and thanks for the comments you leave me on my blog. I do not know how to do a link thingy either(just no hope with technology) NH lets me in with my Google Account but is very very slow and times out when I get in there. I too need to go on the wagon ,but first just got to order the JCS Christmas, as you can bet your life if I dont I will wish I did.
Good luck with it.

The cube is looking very nice, that's one to please Santa.
I like your Halloween one , are you going to make a cube of that one too?
The House is looking very pretty.

Good luck with everything,

Hugs Yvon.

You've had a busy crafting weekend, Lesleyanne. :D CCN and LK both look great, and yes, I can see the white picket fences in CCN. :D

Your Naughty or Nice cube looks great!!!

To insert a link, first highlight the text you want the link to be attached to. For example, you would highlight "Vonna's Tutorial," THEN click on the link icon and put in the url. :) Good luck with it!

We went and seen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows #2 when it first came out and we thought it was the best of all the Harry potter movies.Loved it!
Good luck on the stash diet! My problem is Its just like the food diet I go on I'm good for a couple of weeks and then I break down.
Happy Stitching

Love the finished Lizzy! Looks great! You must have an iron will to put a lock on your stash cravings because I don't think I can manage myself. Good luck!!

Great WIP update, your cube finish looks fab - I need to try that type of finish myself.
Sounds like you and the boys had lots of fun - just what summer break is all about!
Good luck with the stash diet.

Your cube looks fantastic - thank goodness for Vonna's tutorials! There should be a Stash Watchers organization just like Weight Watchers. It takes such willpower to resist everything that is out there. Good luck getting enough done that you can fall off the wagon!

Good job with the cube any time you try a new finishing technique it somtimes takes a few tries to get it looking flawless.

You are stitching some beautiful pieces!! I love how you made a box for the Naughty of Nice. If I could do finishing, maybe I would start some projects that don't need framing!

Lovely progress on your wips Lesleyanne, and well done on your cube finish. I've done a sort of cube finish a long time ago and found it quite quick to do and really effective, but like you had a few teething problems.
Good luck on your stash diet, everytime I try to go on the wagon I just seem to crave stash even more, so I'm not doing it again, just trying to be a little bit sensible, if that's possible lol.

Such a pretty CCN piece, Lesleyanne--the colors are wonderful... Nice progress on your LK piece, too...

Your cube looks great to me--who's going to look at the back anyway!! I'm sure it is great :)

Good luck with the "stash diet"--I started the year on one, but have fallen off the wagon :( Just way too many beautifully tempting charts out there!

Your CCN and L*K look lovely Lesleyanne. Love the colours in the CCN.

Your cube looks fantastic! I haven't made one for ages. Must have another go sometime.

Good luck on the stash diet :) I was thinking I should do it again but, like Lisa, when I'm on it I want more stash than ever!!!! I really should try though!

Sounds like you had a lovely week off:)

Both of your WIPs look great and I can't wait to see what you've got for your last stash haul. I'm also planning a stash diet as I'll have to buy important things like food instead come September LOL Best wishes to you.
