I did it!

I have finally attempted a flat ornament finish with the help of Angela's tutorial and words of support.

The design I used was Feelin Festive by Lizzie Kate.  I am to say I am pretty chuffed with how it turned out especially for a first attempt and especially considering how messy I got with the glue lol.

This is the back of the finish.  I thought the backing fabric was perfect for it although it took a bit of time getting the reindeer in roughly the right place.

I am currently stitching on my HAED Ariadne and will show a picture next week after the SAL I am in.

Until next time, happy stitching

Love Lesleyanne xxx

Oh Lesleyanne, your flat fold ornament came out great! I still haven't tried my first one, but I have the finished piece and backing fabric, but no trim yet.

Congratulations on a perfect finish! Well done! I love the little reindeer and the backing fabric is really fun. Finishing gets easier with practice and the more different things you try the better you get with all of them.

Congratulations...it is just perfect. I feel I have not done a good job unless I have glue on the carpet, me, furniture and so on..it is made to be messy!!

A beautiful finish Lesleyanne! I find flat finishes a bit fiddly (which means I rarely do them!) but I'm always really proud of myself when I've done one! ;0)
