Is it November yet?

I will be truly glad to see the back of October.  It has been one of those months.  After my husband having his appendix out rather suddenly I thought that that was as bad as October could get.  How wrong was I?  I was just getting ready to take my sons to school on Tuesday morning when I heard what I thought was a tap running in the bathroom.  I sent my youngest son upstairs to turn said tap off.  He came flying downing the stairs to tell me water was squirting out of the back of the sink, it had sprung a leak.  What we actually had was a burst water pipe.  I ran upstairs tried to get it to stop, hair dripping, glasses misting whilst my eldest son phoned my dad who came to the rescue to turn off the water.  The kitchen ceiling dripped for over an hour and the plumber came out and has now replaced my bathroom room and kitchen ceiling.  So all is well again but I will be glad to see the back of October.

I have managed to get a bit of stitching in amongst all the excitement but I have done a LOT of frogging too.  I decided to stitch on one of my long term wips, Lizzie Kate's Halloween ABCs.  I haven't quite got it finished but I am hoping to get it done by the end of next week although we are going away to the seaside for a few days so not sure how much stitching I will get in but it is definitely coming with me.  According to the weather forecast for the East of England coast I am going to need my umbrella and thermal underwear but I am really looking forward to blowing the cobwebs away.

I also hope to start my SAL with Angela next week too but will tell you more about that next week.

Until next time, happy stitching and to all my friends in the path of Hurricane Sandy be safe.

Love Lesleyanne

Hi Lesleyanne. Mixed up the two blogs I was reading. Here's the post I wanted.

Yep, that would convince me that October is better left behind. I hope November is kinder to you.
Great progress on your Lizzie Kate.

Please delete my previous post.

October has not been kind to you but it's almost over! I love this LK design, it's great to see it again despite the frogs. Hope you had a nice time away. I'll email you a bit later on, catching up on my blog posts first. It's wet, cold and starting to get windy here but hopefully we won't get it too bad from Sandy.

Oh, aren't water troubles the worst, Lesleyanne?! We had our share in October, too, with the laundry tub overflowing and a skylight leaking--ugh!!

Love your LK piece--what fun that must be to stitch :)

Hope your seaside visit is enjoyable!

Oh my, that doesn't sound like fun. At all. What a mess it must have been to replace the ceiling and everything. So, you must be very glad that everything is repaired by now.
I hope that your husband has fully recovered from his surgery.

That is definitely enough drama for one month.

ABC Halloween looks great!

I also had a water pipe leak under my bathroom sink. It flooded the bathroom and got the floors wet in the hallway, living room, and bedrooms. My insurance paid to have all new carpet in the whole house, all new paint in the whole house, a new bathroom vanity, countertop, sink, and mirror. Hurray for insurance!
