Is it November yet?

I will be truly glad to see the back of October.  It has been one of those months.  After my husband having his appendix out rather suddenly I thought that that was as bad as October could get.  How wrong was I?  I was just getting ready to take my sons to school on Tuesday morning when I heard what I thought was a tap running in the bathroom.  I sent my youngest son upstairs to turn said tap off.  He came flying downing the stairs to tell me water was squirting out of the back of the sink, it had sprung a leak.  What we actually had was a burst water pipe.  I ran upstairs tried to get it to stop, hair dripping, glasses misting whilst my eldest son phoned my dad who came to the rescue to turn off the water.  The kitchen ceiling dripped for over an hour and the plumber came out and has now replaced my bathroom room and kitchen ceiling.  So all is well again but I will be glad to see the back of October.

I have managed to get a bit of stitching in amongst all the excitement but I have done a LOT of frogging too.  I decided to stitch on one of my long term wips, Lizzie Kate's Halloween ABCs.  I haven't quite got it finished but I am hoping to get it done by the end of next week although we are going away to the seaside for a few days so not sure how much stitching I will get in but it is definitely coming with me.  According to the weather forecast for the East of England coast I am going to need my umbrella and thermal underwear but I am really looking forward to blowing the cobwebs away.

I also hope to start my SAL with Angela next week too but will tell you more about that next week.

Until next time, happy stitching and to all my friends in the path of Hurricane Sandy be safe.

IHSW

I am sure many of you will know it was International Hermit and Stitch Weekend organised by Joysze this weekend.  I sat down to finish my block on Michelle's Round Robin and have managed to finish it.  It is Little House Needleworks Home of the Needleworker Too.  I stitched about half of the house and the green leaf next to it.  I really enjoyed stitching this and thanks to Michelle for letting me.

Not quite sure what I am stitching on this week so it will be a surprise to me and you as it will depend on what calls the loudest.

Thank you to those that take the time of leave a comment and get well wishes for my hubby who has gone back to work today.  Am I allowed to say yay!  It was nice to have the house to myself for a couple of hours when I got home from work this afternoon lol but that doesn't mean to say I hope he didn't do too much at work and over exert himself.

Until next time, happy stitching

A RAK!

I received a surprise RAK, Random Act of Kindness, this week.  Th lovely Angela surprised me with this gorgeous Halloween pillow.  It is Fright Night by Lizzie Kate stitched on 32ct Pearl Grey Belfast Linen using the recommended DMC threads.  Isn't it gorgeous.  Thank you again Angela.  I am looking forward to putting it in pride of place when I get my Halloween decorations out and will treasure it always.

I thought I would also show a picture of my orts since I have again missed the TUSAL date and am posting late.

I am working away on Michelle's RR and hope to get it completed bearing in mind it is IHSW.  I hope everyone manages to get some stitches in.

Until next time, happy stitching

Halloween Finishes!

I have managed to finish two Halloween finishes this week and that is despite the fact that my husband had to go to hospital to have a camera in his stomach which lead to his appendix being removed.

Lizzie Kate Halloween Sampler
16 ct Pewter Aida
Recommended DMC Threads

Lizzie Kate Hocus Pocus
16ct Pewter Aida
Recommended DMC Threads

Both of these were finished using the fabric in the background which I received as part of an exchange.  My finishing still needs LOTS of practice.

I have received Michelle's round robin so will be stitching on that whilst attending to my nursing duties.

Until next time, happy stitching

Blue is the Colour!

Firstly, I want to thank everyone that left comments on my finish last week, I really appreciate them. I don't think I have ever had so many xx

I spent last week stitching on my hubby's Chelsea Football Club logo and spent a lot of time stitching blue, hence the title.  It is also the start of the song for the football club but I will spare you the rest of the verse.

I am quite pleased with my progress and quite enjoyed stitching on it but am glad to be stitching on something else this week.

I have decided this week to do some Halloween stitching so hope to have a couple of finishes to show you next time I post and I am going to try and actually finish finish them, fingers crossed.

Until next time, happy stitching
