Round Robin / Gifts

I think I have been teasing you for long enough.  Here is my piece for the Round Robin.  I am sure many of you will recognise it.  I am stitching Lizzie Kate's 6 Fat Snowmen.  I have stitched the first one and plan on stitching the bird house next week before it goes on it's travels.  I will stitch the last one when it returns.  I have really enjoyed stitching on it this week and look forward to stitching on the other pieces that will come my way.

It was the lovely Michelle's birthday this week and I decided to send her a little gift to wish her a happy birthday and thank her for her friendship.  I stitched this design in January from the JCS Magazine and backed it with the fabric in the background.  I am pleased to say Michelle loved it despite my very bad finishing.  This piece just didn't finish very well despite however many times I unpicked and stitched it again.

Talking of gifts I was very lucky to receive a gift from Elaine.  She sent me the lovely spring pillow and threads you see below as I had lent her one of my charts.  Thank you Elaine I love my spring pillow and the threads.

That's all from me this week I am off to start my new HAED Ariadne.

Until next time, happy stitching

Feelin Festive!

This week I have been working on my ornament SAL with Angela and have finished April's, just in time, Lizzie Kate's Feelin Festive.  I managed to take it's photo outside as it is quite sunny today unlike yesterday where we had strong winds, hail and rain more like a November day than an April day.   It is stitched on 28ct Bone Jobelan using DMC threads.  I enjoyed stitching this and have just to make it up into something - not decided what yet though.

My ornament for May's SAL is Candy Cane Wishes by Plum Pudding Needleart.  I am not sure which one yet so it's going to be a surprise to you and me lol.

I have made a start on my Round Robin but am going to keep you in suspense for another week until I get some more done before I reveal what it is going to be.

Until next time, happy stitching

IHSW Progress / Tusal

I have been very quiet lately as I have been stitching like a mad woman on HAED Be Good.  This is my progress after IHSW.  I would have liked to have finished page one but it is just not happening.  I am going to put this aside now as I am delighted to say that I have been asked to participate in a round robin and need to make a start on that and also finish my monthly ornament SAL with Angela.

I am a bit late with my TUSAL for this month but here it is.  I have gone back to my old ort container and it is made up with just my Santa this month.

Until next time, happy stitching

Tea Room Finished!

First of all I would like to wish you all a Happy Easter. I have to say it is typical bank holiday weather here at the moment. It has been raining all morning and it doesn't look like its going to stop anytime soon lol. It has to be said in my neck of the woods we need the rain as we are in the middle of a drought and a hosepipe ban.

I finished CCN's Tea Room yesterday. This was part of a stitchalong with Angela. Anyone who has stitched this will notice that I have stitched the outer border. This is due to the fact that I haven't left enough fabric either side to allow enough room for the border and to allow me to frame it. I am hoping to get a white frame so think it will look great, I hope so anyway.

I have decided to stitch Lizzie Kate's Feelin Festive ornament for my ornament SAL with Angela.

I am going to order my threads this week for the HAED Ariadne SAL which starts in May and I have seen a couple of stitchers on Facebook who have already started it and I have to say I can't wait as she looks gorgeous.

Until next week, happy stitching

Be Good!

I have worked on my Heaven & Earth Be Good design this week as it was calling me. I am enjoying this but can only work on certain colours as I am waiting for my thread pack to arrive. I am not so sure I shall like the rest of page one as there are a lot of a couple of stitches here and a couple of stitches there but so far so good.

Short and sweet from me this week.

Until next time, happy stitching

All is Jolly!

I started the week stitching All is Calm, my monthly ornament SAL with Angela. Unfortunately it met with a spillage, not quite sure how as it was in a plastic folder, but I couldn't get the stain out so over the weekend, in the garden out in the sunshine, which was lovely, I stitched Miss Crescent's Jolly which was in the JCS magazine. I have to admit I thought it said Joy and so changed to the 'l' slightly. I loved the colours in this one, I used the recommended DMC, and stitched it on 14ct white aida. I will make it up sometime soon, not quite sure how yet though!

Next up is my progress on the Tea Room SAL again with Angela. I have finished the tree. I will be working on the bench and the wording this week and hopefully some of the border.

Until next time, happy stitching

Lots to Share!

First up today I want to show you the gorgeous giveaway I won from Denise. The box arrived on Saturday and I was stunned to find all these lovely gifts. Thank you very Denise, I will enjoy it all.

I have been stitching away last week on my SAL with Angela and am really pleased with my progress. Still quite a bit to stitch on it but I am enjoying it. Sorry for the hoop marks.

This is my Tusal for March. Lots of orts from my Easter projects, SAL and my new start.

It was International Hermit and Stitch Weekend this past weekend and having signed up for SAL on Facebook to stitch a new Heaven and Earth Design I thought I would get a little practice in by stitching on one I have had for quite a while and had never plucked up the courage before.

It is a mini called Be Good for Goodness Sake by Dona Gelsinger. Below is a picture of what it will look like when its finished, hopefully and also my progress picture.

I have joined Kathy's SAL on Facebook to stitch this gorgeous design called Ariadne by Rachel Anderson starting in May. I am really looking forward to stitching this in rotation with my other stitching.

Until next time, happy stitching

Two Finishes / SAL Progress!

I want to start off by thanking you all for your kind birthday wishes. I have never had so many comments and am thrilled I have reached over 200 followers.

I stitched and finished Lizzie Kate's Peep last week and used the fabric in the background to make it into a pillow. The finishing is not great I had trouble with the corners but I am still quite pleased with it.

I also finished up Lizzie Kate's Sampling Easter the same way, this finish is a little better.

I thought I would show you a picture of them in my spring basket. I may stitch a couple more this year but haven't decided.

Finally my progress on LHN's The Tea Room. I am stitching this with Angela. I have to say I am loving it. I love the colours the design uses. I am stitching it on 14ct blue marble aida.

Talking of Angela, she has asked if I would like to stitch an ornament a month with her. I, of course agreed, and my March ornament will be LHN's All is Calm and I will show my finish at the end of the month.

Until next time, happy stithcing

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my birthday and I wanted to share with you all the gorgeous gifts I received from my wonderful stitching friends.

The first gift is from Jane, which included ribbon, ric rac and blue evenweave fabric, which I already know what I am going to use it for, heart fabric and in the little packet some gorgeous buttons and charms. Thank you so very much Jane, it is all gorgeous and can't wait to use it.

The next gift is from Sally, a beautifully stitched and finished ornament which I believe translated is about friendship. Thank you so very much Sally I love it and your friendship very much.

Next up is this gorgeous package from Elaine. A design by L*K Coffee Crazy which is beautifully stitched and finished which included some gorgeous scissors, lovely threads, some made with love charms and Starbucks coffee. Thank you so much Elaine - I love it all.

Here is a close up of the threads, charm and scissors, which I absolute love. The colours are gorgeous and so me lol.

Finally and by no means last, I won Becka's birthday giveaway and this is what I received. Some lovely gingham fabric, metallic threads and red and green ric rac and two Malters Easter Rabbit chocolates which my two boys have already whipped away. Thank you so much Becka. I
am looking forward to using these items in my Christmas ornaments.

I can't express my gratitude enough to you all for the unexpected but gorgeous birthday gifts. Thank you so much for spoiling me and making my birthday extra special.

I'll be back later in the week with a stitching finish, which may even be finish finished and a new start, my SAL with Angela.

Until next time, happy stitching

WOW! WOW! WOW!

That is the only way I can think of to describe the absolutely stunning gift I received from my stitching sister, Angela. Angela had emailed me to let me know that my birthday gift was on it's way. I certainly wasn't expecting it to arrive so quickly. I emailed Angela to let her know it had arrived and I was being a good girl and had put it to one side until my birthday. Angela emailed me and told me to open it. Yay! This is the beauty I found inside. Angela stitched this design for me as we both share a love of reading and already knew I loved the design, especially since she had previously asked if I wanted to stitch it along with her later in the year, sneaky do you not think?

This is the inside of the box together with the lovely book mark she also sent along with a couple of books that have already been taken upstairs ready to be read.

Thank you Angela. I will treasure it and your friendship forever.
