Award and Miscellaneous

I have received the lovely sunshine award from Claire (http://aimetu-clare.blogspot.com/). Thank you so much Claire you really, really made my day. I am supposed to pass this award on to 12 bloggers but I am not going to do that because there are soooo many more than 12 that deserve it (just look at my blog list lol) but will say that it's for all the bloggers out there who I visit as there are so many wonderful, inspiring bloggers out there.

I would like to post a picture of the award but blogger won't let me.

I also have a picture of the anniversary sampler I have finished and has been received but again blogger won't let me.

I started All our Yesterdays, The Lighthouse, last week and have done better than I thought I would as I have had a very busy week.

This week is the Christmas Design SAL, I don't think I will be stitching on it this week as I am out just about every night, with parents evening, a school concert and a night out to see Snow White on Ice by the Russian ballet stars, can't wait.

Talking about SALs, I have joined Sally, Barb and Hazel on their Sampler Girl's Jane Austen at Home stitch along starting on 9 April. I have juggled my rotation slightly to fit this in but couldn't resist since I had it in my stash. I have just got to decide what fabric to use.

Until next time, hopefully with pictures, happy stitching.

Not a lot!

of stitching going on that is. For some reason this week I haven't felt like doing ANYTHING - not stitching, not facebook, not housework (not that thats new), nothing. However at the weekend I picked up a bit and finished my LHN Ornie "Snowy Pines".

I did stitch on Lanarte Poppy on Monday but not enough to show a picture.

I am going to have a new start on Monday - All Our Yesterdays, The Lighthouse. I have had this for some time and now also have another similar design from All our Yesterdays from a magazine, can't remember which one, that I also want to stitch so I thought I would make a start on one of them and decided on the Lighthouse because I have had it the longest.

Until next time, happy stitching.

Home Sweet Home Back!

I picked up CCN's Home Sweet Home from the framers today. I have to say I'm really pleased with the job they did on it.

This is my progress on Dimensions Row of Love. I must apologise for the state it's in - its needs a wash and an iron. I can't believe the fabric looks as mucky as it does. I wouldn't mind but I keep it in a zipped clear wallet so not quite sure how its come to be in this state.

I also had a new start this week. It's LHN Ornie SAL "Snowy Pines". I started this as I took my sons swimming lessons and then carried it on on Sunday when my eldest son went for his grading in Karate. It was not how I planned my Mother's Day but he achieved his orange belt so am very pleased. I have to say I have really loved stitching this week especially since I didn't get any visits from the frogs and on Row of Love I have passed the part where I had to fudge it because of the previous mistake.

This week in my rotation it is the turn of the Lanarte Poppy and I can't wait to work on it some more.

Until next time, happy stitching.

Christmas Design SAL Progress

I finished the Lizzie Kate Special Edition 2007 Ho, Ho, Ho and have started Lizzie Kate's Christmas Is for the Christmas Design SAL. I am really pleased with my progress I have finished the bottom half and only have the top half to do. I have also finished my LHN Ornie SAL "He's a flake". I not ever so happy with it. After unpicking and stitching and unpicking and stitching again I decided to leave it as it was. They are only minor mistakes but I know their there.

Anyway here's a picture of my progress and finish on the Lizzie Kate designs.

I have celebrated my 41st birthday this week as well and went out with my family for a meal which was lovely. I received mainly cash for my birthday (which I asked for) so I can keep getting my cross stitch framed and of course, buy more stash lol.

I am so delighted to see that I have thirty followers and quite a few are new. I look forward to reading your blogs and getting to know you.

My plans for this week are to stitch some more on my Dimensions Row of Love. It should be my Lanarte Poppy but I thought I would swap them over as I stitched on Lanarte Poppy the week before last. I don't want you getting bored of seeing the same old thing all the time.

Until next time, happy stitching.

Anniversary Sampler Finished!

I finished the Anniversary Sampler for my mum's friend last night. I haven't taken a photo because I have taken it to be framed. I will post a photo once it has been received.

I have kitted up my next LHN Ornie for the SAL, He's a Flake, and will start that today whilst watching the replay of the figure skating.

I didn't want to have a no photo post so I have taken a photo of my stash cupboard. I got this in January and have to say it is lovely. In the draws I have my current projects. On the top shelf I have my fabric, small set of drawers holding my crescent colour threads and three large DMC thread holders.

On the second shelf, I have my kits in a tub, small kits in the wicker basket and charts in a pink lever arch file.

Until next time, happy stitching.

So Near Yet So Far!

This is where I got to on my Christmas Design SAL. I haven't had as much time stitching on it as I would have liked as I was out three times this week. I went to see Holiday on Ice and also Les McKeown from the Bay City Rollers singing songs from the seventies. Both nights were fantastic. I have run out of the colour "Spinach" so will have to order some more. I wont be placing an order for a while, not just for one thread, so it will be a while now before this is finished. When its my Christmas Design SAL next I will stitch another Lizzie Kate, either "Joy" or "Christmas is...". Feel free to leave a comment and say which you would like me to stitch next.

I should be stitching on my Lanarte Poppy this week but my mum has asked me to stitch something for a friend's 60th wedding anniversary which is in March. I will start it tomorrow night once I have got everything kitted up. I will work on this until it is finished. It is not very large so hopefully wont take very long.

Until next time, happy stitching.

Home Sweet Home Finished!

I've just finished CCN's Home Sweet Home whilst watching Dancing on Ice. This was a lovely piece to stitch, I really enjoyed it. I'm going to take this to the Framers so that it can get put up in the hall as quickly as possible.

It leaves a blank slot on week four and I may do a poll because at the moment I just can't decide what to stitch next so many things are screaming at me to be stitched. I think I want to do a smaller design so that I leave myself a slot to stitch any birthday cards I may want (won't be many this year, just a few special people) or if I don't finish my monthly LHN Ornie then I will have a space to fit it in to ensure I keep on track.

It's time to go back to week one on my rotation, Christmas Design SAL, Lizzie Kate's Special Edition Ho, Ho, Ho. I'm loving this and if I do as well as I did last time on this piece I may have another finish this time next week but we will wait and see.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

Wohoo First Finish of 2010!

I have finished the second ornament in the LHN Ornie series for my SAL. I carried on after the weekend thinking I could finish it on Monday but it has took until today to finally get it done. It is stitched on 32 ct Antique White Jobelan using DMC threads. I enjoyed this one and I have had an email to say the next one will soon be on its way. I am now going to carry on with CCN Home Sweet Home as per my rotation.

Happy Stitching until next time.

Row of Love & Pear Tree Progress

Here's my progress of Dimensions Row of Love. I struggled with this this week. I have made a mistake and have had to fudge it so I lost a bit of my enthusiam for it. So I have put it away for now and will continue when it is next in my rotation. I will continue tonight with my LHN Ornie SAL Pear Tree. This is where I am at the moment - not a great deal of progress but some. I think I was feeling a bit unsettled because there are so many different designs screaming at me that I want to do. I have gone from having one on the go that would probably take up nine months of the year to having a rotation and four or five on the go so I think I need a quick finish. I want to work on everything particularly Carol's designs from iStitch. I have got most of them and seeing other people's progress on them make me want to start one. I am hoping that if I get Pear Tree done I can then start one of them. I am thread for Sew Blue, Sew Red and Sew Pink so it's decisions decisions for me lol.

Until next time, Happy Stitching.
