Ornament Finish / New Start

I finished my ornament for my SALs with Angela and the Monthly Ornament SAL.  For February I chose LHN Gingerbread Cookie.  Sorry for the creases.  I did change the colours slightly.  I can't believe this little guy took me six evenings to stitch, more to do with me than the design.

I have also had a new start, yeah like I need another one, but this is a "must" stitch even though I can't say I am thrilled by it.  It is the Chelsea Football Logo that I have promised to stitch for my husband.  Quite pleased with my progress on this.  I am stitching it on 16ct white fabric as when I started it on the 14ct it didn't look right.

This week I will be working on my Lizzie Kate Boo Club sal.

Until next time, happy stitching

IHSW

Another slow week of stitching on QS Literate Dragon.  It seemed to take until Friday before I got into the grove and after making good progress for International Hermit and Stitch Weekend I don't want to put it away.

It is definitely challenging with the amount of confetti but Puff the magic dragon, as I have called him as I have the song going round in my head whenever I stitch him, is coming along well and starting to take shape.  I had hope to finish the last two columns but ran out of time in my rotation.

This week I am going to be stitching a ornament as part of my SAL with Angela and the Christmas Ornament SAL 2013.

Until next time, happy stitching

Boo! Belles!

I have been pleased with my progress this week although a couple of nights I didn't get to stitch.  I finished both blocks I wanted to finish to try and get my rotation back on track.

First up is Lizzie Kate Boo Club.  This is the third block out of twelve.

Next up is my second block on Lizzie Kate's Snow Belles.

Lastly for today, it is time to show my orts jar.  Lots of red this month!

.

I will be stitching on HAED Mini Ariadne this weekend as the SAL has started again on Facebook and then next week will be my other HAED Literate Dragon for the BB SAL,although I am a week late for this one so I have had a change of my Rotation and posted it on the right hand side, as much for me as for you all.

Thank you to everyone who leaves a comment I really do appreciate them.

Until next time, happy stitching

January Ornament Finish!

I finished by January ornament SAL with Angela and the Christmas Ornament 2013 blog run by Lainey by the skin of my teeth at about 10.30 pm on 31 January. It wasn't the ornament I was going to stitch but as I had forgotton about it, it needed to be a quickie.

I chose a freebie from The Little Stitcher.

The Little Stitcher Freebie
Merry Christmas Deer
I stitched it on 32ct Light Mocha using  DMC 816 and White.  I enjoyed stitching this one.  I have finish finished it yet.  I am sure I will at some stage of the year.

At the beginning of the week I started the next block on Snow Belles although it should have been Boo club.  I haven't quite finished it yet so won't show it yet and this week I will be working on Boo Club although it should have been Snow Belles lol.

Until next time, happy stitching

Mini Ariadne - New Start!

I started Mini Ariadne this week from Heaven and Earth Designs.  I absolutely love the colours in this one and am really pleased with my progress.  There are quite a few gaps as I don't have all the colours but I am hoping they will arrive in time for her next outing out in my rotation.

This is stitched on 18ct Magic Guide 2 x 1.  I have the large format chart as my poor eyes need all the help they can get.

I am going to stitch on my Lizzie Kate projects this week, Boo and Snow Belles, not sure which one yet though.

Until next time, happy stitching

IHSW - January

So this weekend was the first International Hermit and Stitch Weekend of 2013.  In view of the amount of white stuff we have had, I decided to make the most of it and stay and stitch especially bearing in mind during the week I managed about fifty stitches.  I decided to continue with my QS Literate Dragon and this is how he looks as of tonight.

I am really pleased with my progress although I did deviate slightly to get away from the confetti for a bit of a break.

This week I am going to stitch my first ornament of 2013 and I may start my HAED Mini Ariadne.  I had started the regular Ariadne but after making a huge mistake and whilst unpicking said huge mistake I ripped my material I have decided to restart it but the Mini instead.  Luckily the most of the threads are used in the mini so not a lot of outlay needed.

I hope every one affected by the white stuff stays safe.

Until next time, happy stitching

New Start / First Tusal of 2013

I have had another new start for 2013.  I joined the Heaven and Earth Bulletin Board's 2013 Freebie SAL.  The design I chose was the QS Literate Dragon as being the mum of two boys I thought this would be suitable for either of them when I eventually finish it.  The first picture is what it should look like when it is finished.

This is my first week's progress.  Not a lot compared to some I have seen on Facebook but I am quite pleased with it.  It is stitched on 18ct magic guide 2 x 1.  As it is a five week month this month I have decided to carry on with him for another week before putting him away until it is his turn again in my rotation.

Finally for today is my first Tusal report for 2013.  I am quite concerned about the amount of orts in my jar because of the amount of confetti in my dragon I think I may have been a bit generous when throwing away my orts so I can see that I might have to get more threads for him if I keep going at this rate lol.  If you want to join the Tusal, you can find out more at Daffycat's blog

Until next time, happy stitching.

New Year/New Start/New SAL

Happy New Year to everyone.

I have lots to share so will get on with it.

Firstly it has become a bit of a tradition of mine to have a new start on 1st January every year.  This year whilst discussing this with my stitching sister, Angela, we decided to start a new SAL, our third one for this year lol.  We decided on Lizzie Kate's Snow Belles.  So on 1st January I duly started Snow Belles and have managed to get the first block done.  We are hoping to stitch a block a month.

I am a bit disappointed that you can't see the words at the top very well so I might outline them but will wait and see how the others come out.

At the end of the year I emptied my ort jar which is also a bit of a tradition.  This is what it looked like on 31 December.  It is now ready for the 2013 Tusal which is run by Daffycat.  Pop over if you want to find out more details.

I also promised you pictures of the gorgeous Christmas gifts I received from Angela and Elaine and here there are.

Next in my rotation is another new start from the HAED Bulletin Board 2013 SAL which I will show you next time.

Until next time, happy stitching

Christmas!

Firstly I would like to thank Angela and Elaine of Lainey's Stitching Hoose fame for my GORGEOUS Christmas gifts.  Unfortunately my camera is broken so I can't show any pictures.

Angela and I decided to exchange Christmas gifts this year and I was thrilled to receive a flatfold from Angela of CCN Happy Holidays ornament from the JCS 2012 Magazine. Thank you Angela I absolutely love it and look forward to displaying it for many years to come.

I stitched Angela a Debbie Draper Design called Stitching Friends.  I am pleased to say Angela was delighted with it.  I want to thank Sally for lending me the chart.

I was very surprised to receive a gift from Lainey who stitched me a gorgeous Lizzie Kate design from this year's Tiny Tidings.  Thank you so much Lainey I am so thrilled with it and I look forward to putting on my Christmas tree for years to come.

I am sorry if I haven't left many comments on your blogs.  I have spent the last few weeks poorly with a bad cold and then over Christmas itself I managed to pick up the stomach bug that is going around as did my youngest son so Christmas has been a bit of a sorry affair but we are all on the mend now.  I actually feel quite human again yay!!!!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all who read and comment on my blog and would like to wish you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year.

Until next time, happy stitching
